Restrictions eased in Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and Lancashire as Leeds on watchlist


CORONAVIRUS restrictions are to be eased in Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and Lancashire.

It means a host of businesses, including soft play centres, gyms and casinos can finally reopen across the regions on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Leeds could have new lockdown measures introduced following a spike in cases throughout the city.

Councillors have warned people in Leeds must make a “collective effort” to avoid being plunged back into a local lockdown.

It comes as the UK death toll increased by 13 to total 41,537, and cases hit 342,351.
