People living in parts of England which had the highest levels of child poverty before the coronavirus pandemic have now been revealed as suffering some of the biggest rises in unemployment. The think tank, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, which carried out the analysis, is calling for the government to target help to those areas, worst hit by COVID-19. The Treasury says support is in place for the most deprived communities. Our Special Correspondent, Ed Thomas, has been hearing from people in the north east of England, a region that has the highest rate of joblessness in the UK.
