Boko Haram terrorists killed at least 60 people in Nigeria’s Borno state on June 13. Boko Haram terrorists attacked a garrison town in Borno named Monguno, where United Nations and several other international aid organizations are based. Before this attack, Boko Haram gunmen killed at least 81 people on June 9.
Boko Haram, a terrorist organization formed in 2002, has killed more than 30,000 people since 2009. More than two million people in Nigeria have fled their homes to protect themselves from the Boko Haram violence. Thousands of Nigerians have been reported missing since the rise of Boko Haram. In April 2014, Boko Haram drew international disapproval for kidnapping around 300 schoolgirls from a girls hostel in Chibok town in Borno state. Abubakar Shekau, leader of Boko Haram, appeared in a video saying that he will sell the girls in the slave market. Boko Haram has kidnapped hundreds of girls and boys since then. Majority of these kidnapped kids have been forced to participate in Jihad.
