Badrinath has revealed that former India opener Virender Sehwag should have been CSK’s captain in the first IPL. Sehwag was interested in CSK team management. Badrinath said that it was the fact that India had become world champions that prompted CSK to spend Rs 6 crore on Dhoni.

Winning the 2007 T20 World Cup was the first major achievement of Dhoni’s career. India fielded a test team under Dhoni after several senior players withdrew from the tournament.
