Speaking after the game, Kevin De Bruyne said: “I think we played really well.
“Obviously in the second half there were stages that were difficult as offensively Wolves were strong, but we played securely and didn’t take too many risks, props to the defenders and defensive midfielders as they kept it tight.”
When pushed by Jamie Carragher about the pressure on City to start the season well, to ensure they go toe-to-toe with Liverpool, he said: “It’s a little bit of a weird season, but we know we still have to start well.
“Wolves have been a bogey team for us in the last seasons, but we did very well today.
“We know if the pace is the same as the last three years then it will be a hard job to fight against Liverpool- but I feel we make each other better and that’s what sport is all about.”
