Just In: How Nigeria Can Survive Covid-19- Mona Foundation



The Coronavirus disease popularly known as covid-19 was first confirmed in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December,2019, since then, cases have spread across nations of the world.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) however declared the virus a pandemic going by the number of confirmed cases globally.

As at the time of filing this report, confirmed cases globally has risen to over 3 million,with 263,228 deaths and over 1 million recoveries..

Nigeria just like other nations of the world has had its own fair share of the disease with over 3 thousand active cases,534 recoveries and 103 deaths.

This development however may not be far from reasons behind the various interventions like lockdown of Lagos,Ogun and the federal capital Territory,shutdown down of businesses, churches and mosques including ban in both local and international flights among several others by the government to contain the spread of the pandemic.

These measures not withstanding has attracted the commendation of the Mona foundation.

Speaking with CNA News in Abuja, chairperson of the foundation, Princess Zara Audu however advised that emphasis should now be on finding cure for the disease.
