Nigeria has accepted South Africa’s apology for attacks on foreign nationals in the country. It also expressed its regret about retaliatory attacks by Nigerian citizens. The two countries are set to further mend fences when their heads of state meet in Pretoria on Thursday.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will host Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on an official visit. Ministers from the two countries met in Pretoria earlier today to do the groundwork for the visit.
