Japan: Advancing girls' education in Africa



In January 2016, a local Japanese group led by late Dr. IWAO Sumiko, established an all-girls’ junior high school in Arusha, Tanizania, to raise future generations of female leaders in science and technology. Sakura Girls Secondary School is bringing Japan and Tanzania, both governments and civil society, to advance girls’ education in the country.
