Minecraft – Sacheverell interviews "MineWays" Eric Haines

Minecraft forums’ uber interviewer Sacheverell sits down with Eric Haines, the creator of Mineways. This is an open source software tool for converting and fine tuning models created in Minecraft into a form that can then be sent to a 3D printer. You can print them on a local 3D printer (certain colleges own them), or by uploading the model to one of a variety of companies offering this service (such as Shapeways).

Eric worked with the two stars we previously profiled – Alexander Boden and Sebastian Draxler of Siegen University – in helping them use Mineways to streamline their printing process.

Eric’s work and downloadable Minecraft creations can be found at:

He is currently looking for other capable people to build upon the work he’s already done, in the spirit of open source and creative collaboration.
