Hundreds of persons all over San Diego called the police that night. The next day on the local news a contrived story aired. The viewing population never questioned it. “The strange light in the sky last night was a power station explosion.” Fake news is not a modern-day thing. It’s been around ever since B.F. Skinner did his famous experiments. Get a master’s in psychology before you discount mass psychological manipulation. Governments use mass psychology all the time.
Like most, I trusted the news. Before that contrived story presented as fact, on TV. I always doubt everything from the news media today. Much news is banal, informative, or harmless, has entertainment, or shock value. The day news added theatrics and entertainment was a sad day. I think FOX news started that trend. My advice: watch the news media with skepticism.
One function of the news is crowd control. To prevent panic, or to guide a population towards a political end. Like claiming “Iraq possesses Yellowcake”, to prime the public for war. Or claiming “A US Naval vessel attacked in the Gulf of Tonkin”, also to prime the public for war. Or “A plane struck the Pentagon”. Even though much evidence shows it was a missile. And the lack of photographic evidence released to the public. Even though the Pentagon is one of the most surveilled buildings in the world. Lack of transparency does nothing to avert conspiracy thinking. Where is all the crashed aircraft evidence? Was it thrown into the ocean, like the remains of the Twin Trade Towers were? More to the point: “The strange light in the sky last night was a power station explosion”. Meant to divert the San Diego public from wondering what happened.
A few days passed, I decided to visit the location where the craft/object/being disembarked. This was an elevated plateau, about 25 feet above and 100 feet from where we had parked. (See location above with coordinates using Google Earth)
I walked into a small office, greeted by a secretary. I noticed photos of various fighter aircraft upon the walls. Upon asking her what the purpose of the facility is. she looked confused for a moment and blurted out that it was an aerospace facility. I told her I represented a group of citizens. We wanted to figure out what flew out of there a few nights before. She looked startled at my inquiry. Looking rather stern, she said: “Sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about.” I told her that I’d return in a few days, which I did.
The place shuttered down and locked up as if no one had ever been there. Today, the small office I visited no longer exists. It is now purportedly a “movie studio”. Hiding in plain sight is a good way to hide. Take note of the out-of-place “Strategic Operations” sign on the homepage of the studio’s website.
It may be a movie studio today. In 1977, it was a black budget facility. The logo at the entrance today is quite odd, though. A stylized bird with wings extended. Movie frames on the wings. If you are in the area, drive by it near the intersection of Ruffin Road and Balboa. After looking at Google Earth, directional bearings are properly set in mind. Even today it looks rather strange from above. I saw a strange helicopter parked there when I looked on Google Earth.
