America’s national identity is built around a kind of constant anxiety about government tyranny. But over the past fifty years, giant corporations have used that anxiety as a propaganda tool, stirring up public fears about “big government” to gut social programs, roll back labor protections, and destroy the environment — thanks in part to the help of corporate propagandists like Dennis Prager and Ben Shapiro.

Noam Chomsky calls this “government is the enemy” idea “anti-politics,” and it’s become one of the most dominant forces in American media. But anti-politics isn’t actually about fighting tyranny or protecting individual liberty — it’s about making sure democracy doesn’t get in the way of corporate power. There’s only one way to stop the world’s billionaires from become actual tyrants — a powerful, democratically elected government that fights on behalf of all of us.

Don’t fall for corporate propaganda. Fight hard and stick together.
