Brits enjoy autumn sunshine as temperatures set to plummet & storms to bring 65mph winds next week, forecasters warn

Winter is being held at bay thanks to a 700 mile-wide ‘African heat bulge’ – but 65mph storms will hit some later this week, warn forecasters.

The Weather Outlook forecaster Brian Gaze said: “People will be calling this Indian Summer-style warmth.”

On Monday, temps will be a cosy 17C – which will be warmer than Marseille in France.

The Met Office forecasts “particularly mild” conditions lasting past mid-November.

But plunging temperatures and snow are due from late this month.
