BORIS JOHNSON is set to lead today’s coronavirus press briefing as he announces changes to the current lockdown rules.
The Prime Minister is expected to reveal that the two-metre social distancing restriction will be reduced to ‘one metre plus’.
This is in a bid to help businesses such as pubs reopen and see more children back in schools, as Mr Johnson plans to unveil a host of changes in the coming weeks.
However, new data from the Office for National Statistics reveal that Covid-related deaths are nearly 54,000 – despite yesterday’s official government figures sitting at 42,647.
Meanwhile, Spain are now allowing Brits to travel to the country without quarantining upon arrival.
