BRITAIN’S Got Talent fans were left raging after a novelty act made it through to the semi-finals thanks to KSI.
The YouTuber judge gave the performer an instant place in the live rounds by selecting him as his Golden Buzzer act.
Mr Cherry, from Japan, stunned the judges with his bizarre routine, which caused Simon, Alesha and Amanda all to hit their buzzers.
The 43-year-old previously found fame in Japan as a strongman and currently holds a whopping 22 Guinness World Records.
The Japanese star is known for cracking walnuts and opening bottles with his buttcheeks.
He had his own TV show at one point and has also already appeared on British TV in a 2024 episode of Bradley and Barney Walsh’s Breaking Dad.
In the audition stages of BGT, KSI branded Mr Cherry “the greatest thing” before slamming the Golden Buzzer.
However, viewers watching at home tonight were left less than impressed, with many saying the act didn’t deserve a place in the live shows.
KSI said he ‘would like to apologise’ to the nation for buzzing through the avant-garde act who eventually placed sixth tonight.
One viewer fumed: “Really annoys me that they put acts like Mr Cherry through but yet acts like that young lad and his grandad who deserved it didn’t get through to the semi finals!”
Another added: “KSI apologising to the public for pressing the Golden Buzzer for Mr Cherry just confirms he regretted doing it.”
A third raged: “You really burned your Golden Buzzer on Mr. Cherry doing that weak bottle-popping nonsense?”
“Bro called it the ‘greatest thing he’s ever seen’ while the rest of us watched a midlife crisis in real time. Worst judge decision in BGT history.”
Despite the backlash, the studio audience erupted into cheers as Mr Cherry squashed watermelons during the performance.
Meanwhile, tonight’s group Golden Buzzer went to drone show Celestial, who lit up the skies with their stunning display securing themselves a place in next week’s live final.
The jaw-dropping act wowed both the judges and the audience as hundreds of synchronised drones created dazzling shapes in the night sky.
After the emotional performance, the panel unanimously agreed the stunning routine deserved a direct pass through to the final.
