⚽ Man City vs Aston Villa preview
It’s the end of a golden era at Manchester City as Pep Guardiola – along with Bernardo Silva and John Stones – depart the Etihad after a trophy-laden spell.
The Spaniard has led his squad to six league titles, three FA Cups, five EFL Cups and won the Champions League as part of the side’s famous 2022/23 treble.
Enzo Maresca is poised to take over but has massive boots to fill, even if they did come up short in this season’s title race.
Nevertheless, an open top bus parade is scheduled for Monday to celebrate his achievements at the club.
That includes the Carabao Cup and FA Cup won this season, with the latter being scooped last weekend at Wembley.
City weren’t their fluent best in the win over Chelsea at the national stadium but were more than worth their victory.
And that likely fed into the midweek performance, when Erling Haaland netted late on to secure a draw at Bournemouth which ended their already faint hopes of pipping Arsenal tot he title.
They’ll want to finish the Pep reign with victory though and are unbeaten since losing in the Champions League in mid-March, winning nine of their last 11 games.
For Villa, they’ll still be on a major high from Wednesday night when ending decades of wait for European glory.
Villa thumped Freiburg in the Europa League final in Turkey and followed up with an open-top bus parade on Thursday, to ensure they’d still train on Friday.
With Champions League football already secured through a top-five finish in the league and by winning the Europa, all that remains for them is to see whether they finish 4th or 5th, with Liverpool three points back with a better goal difference.
It’s unlikely too many Villa fans will care too deeply about that though….

💰Man City vs Aston Villa betting tips
Goals to finish
Man City will want to finish on a high. Aston Villa will too of course, but their high was very much their midweek triumph.
Citu have scored 14 goals in their last five home games, while Villa are tenth in the “away” Premier League table with just 24points from 18 on the road.
And to add to that, City have won 19 of their last 20 Premier League home games against Villa, winning all of the last 15 since defeat in April 2007.
Pep Guardiola’s City have won eight of their nine final day clashes too…
