‘She was a marvel’ – World Cup presenter ‘in deep shock’ after tragic death of colleague


WORLD CUP presenter Rebecca Lowe has been left in “deep shock” after the tragic death of a colleague.

Lowe has fronted NBC‘s Premier League coverage since 2013, but has joined Fox for their coverage of the World Cup, presenting alongside Thierry Henry, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexi Lalas.

But she has taken to social media to pay tribute to NBC colleague, Wendy, who sadly passed away.

Taking to Instagram, she said: “Our Wendy.

“The NBC Sports Family are in deep shock today, mourning the loss of our wonderful Wendy.

“She wasn’t one for photos so thank you @gab_angelique for sending these beautiful pictures and how fitting that they should be of Wendy with so many of the young people she helped.

“That will be one of her many legacies. She positively affected young people’s lives, giving them a chance, opening a door and for that she will be remembered through the lives of so, so many.

“Our love and hearts go out to her family to whom she was so dedicated. And that word ‘dedicated’ sums her up.

“She was always there for her NBC family, for her work and for others. We are thankful to have been touched by Wendy and will never forget her.

“She was a marvel and we hold her family, friends and all the young people at NBC in our hearts. With our love always.”

Ex-Premier League midfielder Robbie Mustoe joined in the praise for the late NBC worker, saying he should have expressed his appreciation more.

He said: “It’s really hard to say just how special Wendy was in our NBC family.

“She cared so much about making our lives easier… supporting us in so many ways for so long.

“This is really heartbreaking. I should have told her more about how much I appreciated her. This is devastating.”

Former USMNT, Everton and Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard added: “Truly one of the best to do it.

“She will be missed dearly.”
