Boy, 16, shot near mosque left ‘fighting for his life’ as cops launch probe


A TEENAGE boy has been rushed to hospital after reportedly being shot near a mosque.

Police were called to Bowyer Road in Birmingham at around 5.30pm on Wednesday following reports of a shooting.

A 16-year-old boy was found with gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

West Midlands Police have said that although the shooting happened hear a mosque it does not currently believe it to be connected to the incident.

Police have now launched a probe into the incident while forensic officers remain at the scene.
