The Director of New Media for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Theo Abu Agada, has reacted after African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Lauretta Onochie shared a post about the political parties of leading presidential candidates.
Naija News reports that the reaction came on Saturday, July 4, 2026, via Abu Agada’s official 𝕏 account after Onochie posted an infographic identifying the political parties of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, but did not list any party for Peter Obi.
Responding to the post, Abu Agada disagreed with the omission, saying Peter Obi is the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress. He maintained that Obi has a political platform, contrary to what the infographic suggests.
The NDC spokesman also stated that the party has already completed the required process of submitting the names of its presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to him, the candidates’ details have already been uploaded on the electoral body’s portal.
He wrote: “Madam Lauretta, His Excellency Peter Obi, CON, has a party. His party is the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), the leading and main opposition party in Nigeria.
“I don’t know what you mean by “No Party” in your poorly done infographic. The last time I checked, we had uploaded the names of our presidential and vice-presidential candidates on the INEC portal.”
