PLENTY of teams have gone home during the World Cup at this point with just three left standing heading into England’s semi-final with Argentina tonight.
But some pundits are calling it a day too and heading home.
Although ITV will have coverage of the World Cup final, Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira will not be a part of their raft of pundits.
Announced after Spain‘s victory over France, Mark Pougatch thanked Vieira for his insight as he sat alongside Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Gary Neville.
He said: “Patrick, it’s been great to have you with us at this World Cup. Sorry you’re not here this weekend.
“But it’s been great to have you with us and thank you very much for contributions. Very, very enjoyable indeed.”
Vieira, once a fierce rival of Keane’s in the Premier League and a team-mate of Wright, watched his home country fail to play to their level against an irrepressible Spain.
Goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro put France to the sword with Kylian Mbappe and co. struggling to ever really get going in the game.
Although Vieira has ventured into management after his playing career, he is currently out of a job and will not be rushing off to take pre-season.

It’s unknown why Vieira will not be on the panel for the final, but he has been a consistent analyst for ITV throughout the tournament.
ITV have been praised for their coverage of the event that is actually taking place live in New York with a stunning backdrop.
BBC, on the other hand, have been producing their shows from their Salford base in a cost-cutting measure.
