Rapper Drake Loses $1.5m On Bet After

Canadian rapper Drake has lost a massive $1.5 million USDT cryptocurrency wager on Argentina after Spain defeated them 1-0 in extra time during the FIFA World Cup 2026 final.

The 39-year-old put his money behind the South American team on Saturday through the betting site Stake, and he could have had a payout of more than $5.1 million.

This $1.5 million World Cup loss adds to an already brutal public betting streak for the artist. Earlier in the month, he also lost a $1 million wager backing Conor McGregor in his UFC return against Max Holloway.

Records indicate that Drake has dropped roughly $5.7 million on public bets since April 2024.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup became a major driver for crypto prediction markets. Traders on Polymarket and Kalshi poured millions into World Cup contracts across the tournament, and the final delivered a fresh round of winners and losers.

The rapper was not the only person to lose big backing Argentina. A trader using the handle gud.hl bet $1.23 million on the team at 10% odds, chasing a $12.35 million payout.
