UK Health Officials Speak about Coronavirus Updates in UK | LIVE | NowThis

UK LOCKDOWN EXTENDED: Government officials hold their daily briefing on the United Kingdom’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. Yesterday, Foreign Minister Dominic Raab announced an extension of the UK’s lockdown measures for at least three weeks, outlining a five-point checklist to be completed before they consider loosening the measures. ‘Now is not the moment to give the coronavirus a second chance,” Raab said. The United Kingdom now has 104,155 confirmed cases of COVID-19—including Prime Minister Boris Johnson—and has seen 14,606 deaths. The UK has seen a continued increase in coronavirus-related deaths. As of April 17, it has 202 COVID-19 related deaths per million of people, compared to 409 deaths/per million in Spain and 100 deaths/per million in the United States.
