The UK’s tragic coronavirus death toll has now reached more than 40,000 as numbers from the Office of National Statistics were released.
The death toll puts Britain ahead of all other European countries and second behind only the USA in terms of numbers of people who have perished with the virus.
Although Britain’s daily death toll is now shrinking, the coronavirus has had a devastating toll on Britain.
But as the peak of the epidemic recedes, and Brits are encouraged back to work and school,
fears over safety in classrooms and workplaces have led some to question the government’s plans to reopen the economy.
