PRESIDENT Trump slammed reports he inquired about putting his face on Mount Rushmore as “fake news”…but the more he thought about it…
“This is Fake News by the failing @nytimes & bad ratings @CNN,” Trump wrote above a retweet of a CNN article about the alleged controversy.
Then, mid-tweet, he seemed to warm to the idea.
“Never suggested it although, based on all of the many things accomplished during the first 3 1/2 years, perhaps more than any other Presidency, sounds like a good idea to me!”
The CNN article reported that the White House reached out to South Dakota Gov Kristi Noem, asking about Trump’s likeness being added alongside the iconic faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.
Earlier Sunday evening, Trump also tweeted a picture of himself smiling in front of Mount Rushmore.
In the pic, the president is positioned just to the right of Lincoln, where an untouched stretch of rock also resides.
