Last year Kenya gazetted at least three special economic zones. These zones were expected to bolsters the country’s doing business image and were also positioned as an attractive investment for scores of investors. Thousands of miles away, Nigeria commissioned one of its special economic zones dubbed Alaro City in 2019. 12 months later Patrick Igunza visited Lagos and met two Kenyan investors taking advantage of the zone to do business.
