A TROPICAL plume is set to bring a 31C heatwave next week – as September is odds on to be the hottest ever.
It follows a ‘north-south’ split this weekend as the south sees warm, dry weather while showers and cooler temperatures are expected up north.
Yellow weather warnings for “heavy and persistent” rain are also in place for large parts of the country on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile a much-needed September heatwave is set to bake the rest of the UK.
A 35C tropical plume is set to scorch Britain in the coming day in a dramatic change of weather.
And after a chilly start to the season, Brits have been given the all clear to “get the barbecues back out” this weekend.
Jim Dale, meteorologist for British Weather Services, said: “Just as people were putting away the barbecues and sun creams, it’s time to get them back out again.
“Early next week we are likely to see temperatures lift into the 30Cs across parts of Britain as heat arrives with a vengeance.”
