With the highest concentration of twins in Nigeria, Igbo Ora is the nation’s self-proclaimed twin capital. According to popular belief, this is due to the diet of the women of the region, and in particular “ilasa”, a dish made from yam and gombola leaf soup. For the second time in its history, the city is organizing the “World Twins Festival”, where twins from Igbo Ora and elsewhere gather to celebrate their existence.
