At least 15 people have died when a plane on a short internal flight crashed after take-off at Lagos airport in Nigeria. The Associated Airlines Embraer 120 was flying from the country’s commercial capital to Akure, a town about 140 miles to the southwest. Air crashes are relatively common in Nigeria, which has a poor safety record. Last year, 163 people died when a plane hit an apartment block in Lagos in the country’s worst airline disaster in twenty years. Report by Jeremy Barnes.
