THIS weekend is set to be a washout as heavy rain and gale force winds batter the UK.
Southern parts of the country are expected to be the worst hit, with a weather warning issued for southwest England and southern Wales for Sunday.
This comes after 179.3mm of rain fell across the UK in October, with the month seeing the UK’s wettest day since records begun.
A cold snap is also expected for next week as bitter air from the north expected to make its way across the country, bringing snow for some parts.
The snow could settle over a two or three day period from Thursday 19 and Saturday 21 in parts of Scotland.
