Barcelona Beat Real Madrid To Seal La Liga Title In Emotional El Clasico

Barcelona clinched the 2025-2026 La Liga title after a commanding 2-0 win over fierce rivals Real Madrid at Camp Nou on a night charged with emotion.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres secured back to back league crowns and sparked celebrations across the stadium as supporters chanted, “Campiones, Campiones, Ole Ole Ole!”

Naija News reports that the evening carried added relevance for coach Hansi Flick, who led his side to the title just a day after the death of his father. The final whistle confirmed Barcelona’s dominance and ended any lingering doubt over the destination of the trophy with three games left to play.

Barcelona players celebrate with coach Hansi Flick after beating Real Madrid to win the 2025-2026 La Liga Title.

During the clash at the Spotify Camp Nou, Barcelona struck early when Rashford curled a superb free kick into the top corner after nine minutes, leaving Thibaut Courtois with no chance. The hosts doubled their lead soon after as Torres finished coolly from close range following clever play inside the penalty area.

Real Madrid created opportunities but lacked the cutting edge required to mount a comeback. Jude Bellingham briefly found the net in the second half, only for the effort to be ruled out for offside, while Vinicius Junior and others were denied by Barcelona’s disciplined defence.

The result caps a difficult campaign for Madrid and raises fresh questions about the club’s direction ahead of next season. Speculation has already begun about whether José Mourinho could be tasked with leading a response.
