Foden Remains England’s Best Number 10 –Sherwood

Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has strongly advocated for Phil Foden to be used in a central, creative role for England, describing him as a top talent who must be included in the starting lineup under Thomas Tuchel.

Following strong performances for Manchester City this month, Sherwood emphasized that Foden is indispensable to England’s World Cup plans.

“I would find it very difficult not to put him in my team, let alone to put him on the plane. He has to be on the plane, he would be in my team, I would find a place for him,” Sherwood said on Sky Sports.

“No one plays better in these areas than Phil Foden, he’s got wing mirrors, he sees things before they come. If you asked Harry Kane who do you want to play behind you, he’d say Phil Foden please.”

England have incredible competition for places in the number 10 role, with Morgan Rogers, Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer, Foden and potentially Morgan Gibbs-White all potentially battling for the starting spot.
