Woman sexually assaulted on busy rush-hour train as cops release CCTV in hunt for man


POLICE are hunting a man after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted on a train during rush hour.

The woman was on an Elizabeth Line train heading to London when she was reportedly attacked at Southall station shortly before 8am on January 27.

Cops have now released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to following the incident.

In the footage, the man is wearing a red hooded jumper, jeans and a blue backpack.

British Transport Police have urged anyone with further information to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Do you recognise this man?

“Detectives investigating a sexual assault on board a train at Southall station are today releasing this image in connection.

“Shortly before 8am on Tuesday 27 January, a woman was sexually assaulted as she boarded an Elizabeth Line train heading into London.  

“Detectives would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe he may have information which could help their investigation.

“Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 455 of 27 January.

“Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
