DECLAN RICE took time away from Arsenal’s title celebrations to check in on his old club West Ham.
There were joyous scenes among the Gunners at Selhurst Park as they lifted the Premier League trophy after a 2-1 win over the Eagles.
Rice was in the thick of the celebrations and received one of the biggest cheers of all the players when he lifted the trophy.
But relegation battlers West Ham, who he left to join the Gunners for a whopping £105million in July 2023, were in the back of his mind.
So much so that he stepped away from the pre-presentation celebrations to see if the Hammers had managed to beat the drop.
He was captured on camera listening to the final day results being read out by Palace’s stadium announcer.
But he seemingly got wind that the Hammers, despite beating Leeds 3-0 on the day, had been relegated thanks to Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Brighton before the result of the east Londoners’ match was read out.
He turned away in disgust and gesticulated before heading back towards the pitch.
