Eberechi Eze, Dan Burn, Marc Guehi, Kobbie Mainoo and Jarell Quansah, players who did not start the match in Dallas, also featured in the game.

Just 13 players trained – with those players then featuring in the match -while the rest did recovery sessions at the team hotel.

Manager Thomas Tuchel was keen to give the rest of his squad a game to maintain their fitness levels.

Many players, including Harry Kane and John Stones, suffered cramp during the match under the roof against the Croatians.

Yet last minute friendlies could be a story of the World Cup as Tuchel also arranged a training match against Miami FC last week.

The Three Lions won that match 6-0 with Toney also firing a hat-trick, although on that occasion, friends and families of the England stars were allowed to watch – but this friendly was completely behind closed doors.

All of the England squad will have a full training session today as they prepare for Tuesday’s second group stage game against Ghana in Boston.
