Last night, My Chemical Romance covered “Jack the Ripper” by Morrissey for the first time in over two decades.
They performed the track during the first of three nights at Wembley Stadium in London on their extended 20th anniversary tour for The Black Parade, where they also ripped into “Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough for the Two of Us” for the first time since 2010.

Their “Jack the Ripper” cover was first heard on their 2002 EP Like Phantoms, Forever and on the limited vinyl edition for the 2004 single “Thank You For The Venom.” The track was first recorded for a promo CD for a 2002 show in Rutland, Vermont, with only 100 copies made.
Since the tour started, MCR have been pulling from their archives: Last weekend, they gave the Conventional Weapons song “Ambulance” its live debut, and earlier this year they played “To the End” from 2004’s Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge for the first time in 20 years.
MCR will drop the deluxe edition of 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys on Friday.
