Defending champions Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will kick off their title defence at the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship with a blockbuster clash against perennial rivals Ghana’s Black Satellites.
The Group B opener is scheduled for Monday, 27 July, at the Lycée Scientifique de Yamoussoukro in Côte d’Ivoire.
The fixture is a repeat of the 2024 final, where the Flying Eagles defeated the Black Satellites 2-1 to lift the trophy.

Abdu Maikaba’s side will return to the same venue for their second Group B match against Togo’s Junior Sparrow Hawks on Thursday, 30 July.
Nigeria will then conclude their group-stage campaign against Burkina Faso’s Young Stallions on Sunday, 2 August, also at the Lycée Scientifique de Yamoussoukro.
The tournament will serve as the qualifying competition for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
The Flying Eagles are expected to leave Nigeria on Monday after completing several weeks of intensive preparations and screening exercises in Abuja.
