Uganda: La Fang Eco Resort Hosts Influencers to Promote Dolwe Island Tourism

La Fang Eco Resort has hosted media professionals, digital content creators, influencers and photographers on a familiarisation tour aimed at showcasing the tourism potential of Dolwe Island and promoting the resort as a premier eco-luxury destination.

The tour brought together content creators and media personalities who travelled aboard MV Sigulu to experience the island’s natural scenery, cultural heritage and tourism offerings.

Participants took part in activities including quad biking, guided island tours, boat cruises on Lake Victoria, farm visits, swimming, karaoke and a “breakfast in the bush” experience.

They also sampled goat roasting from the resort’s eco-farm and participated in sunset photography sessions designed to highlight the island’s scenic landscapes.

The visitors toured the resort’s rooms and cottages, which have been built around the island’s natural rock formations as part of a sustainability-focused design that preserves existing rocks and trees while providing modern accommodation.

La Fang Eco Resort General Manager Duncan Wandera said the familiarisation trip forms part of the resort’s broader strategy to market Dolwe Island through authentic storytelling and digital content.

“We are delighted to host some of Uganda’s leading content creators and media professionals to experience Dolwe Island firsthand. Their stories, photographs and videos will help introduce more people to this incredible destination while showcasing the unique experiences that La Fang Eco Resort offers,” Wandera said.

As part of the initiative, the team also handed over Explore Uganda-branded promotional materials to support destination marketing efforts.

Influencer Queen Tracy Nakabugo described the resort as an ideal destination for visitors seeking tranquillity and nature.

“The rooms are beautifully designed, the environment is calm, and the scenery is breathtaking. It’s the perfect place to relax, recharge and enjoy nature,” she said.

Content creator Simple Gladys encouraged more Ugandans to visit the island, describing the experience as memorable.

“La Fang Eco Resort is a hidden gem. From the warm hospitality to the exciting activities and the beautiful views, it offers the perfect escape for anyone looking for relaxation and adventure in one place,” she said.

The familiarisation tour is part of the resort’s campaign to strengthen its position as one of Uganda’s leading luxury eco-tourism destinations while raising the profile of Dolwe Island as a destination for domestic, regional and international travellers.
