UK Immigration update: No recourse to public funds? You can now apply. Contact me or another lawyer

If you have a No Recourse to Public Funds endorsement on your visa – you can now apply to have that condition varied. The Home Office updated its guidance on 3 April 2020 – yesterday to allow those who are on NRPF to apply to vary this condition if:
Your financial circumstances have changed since you have been granted your visa and you are no longer able to afford to feed yourself and your family and / or will lose your accommodation. While this does not state “because of coronavirus” it is clear that this is what it means to me;
You have a child at risk because of your low income;
You previously were destitute but did not disclose this.

This is not an automatic change to all on NRPF visas – you will need to apply on the relevant form and provide evidence, if you do not then the Home Office may well refuse you.

I would advise contacting a reputable immigration lawyer or contact me on 0207 242 3488 and I can advise and / or help you make the application.

I can be contacted at clerks@imperiumchambers.co.uk or at my site www.theimmigrationbarrister.co.uk.

This is a good step – but it would have been better had it been wider announced.

Please watch, comment and subscribe. Please let me now your thoughts, I will keep these broadcasts as non political and migrant motivated as long as people watch them.
