▶️ An oil pipeline explosion in Lagos caused a creek to catch on fire sending plumes of smoke into the sky, Thursday, December 5.
👉 Local media reported that there were a number of casualties following Thursday’s blast in the capital’s Isheri-Olofin area, but specific numbers were not immediately available.
Witness Israel Atobatele said he was woken up by the blast and fled the area with others who were “running for their lives”.
Pipeline tapping and siphoning of oil is a common practice in Nigeria, mainly around the isolated creeks from the delta down to the waterways of Lagos. (AP)
