Authorities in the Nigerian commercial capital of Lagos and family members of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Have been marking his 79th posthumous birthday and the 20th anniversary of his death. Governor of Lagos Akinwunmi Ambode last week unveiled a statue in Fela’s memory. Fela died in August 1997 at the age of 58. But 20 years on, his legacy remains ever strong. Our Correspondent Deji Badmus reports.
