The news is breaking that according to the Advocate General of the European Court of Justice, the UK can unilaterally revoke the triggering of Article 50 and remain in the EU without requiring the permission of the other EU27 members states.

This is in response to the case that Scottish politicians brought earlier this year.
This will of course be leapt on by Remainers who will push it to the hilt as a way of stopping what they will claim is a disastrous no-deal Brexit.
It will also ensure that Theresa May’s deal will now go down in flames as Remain minded MPs – that’s most of them of course, vote it down to give them a crack at passing legislation to reverse Brexit.
To do that they would also need to unwind all the legislation put in place so far too.
Further, they would need to do it before 11pm on 29th March 2019 as the Article 50 process ends in accordance with both EU and UK law at that time.
Now, this ruling by the ECJ Advocate General is not final, but it would be unusual for the court to ignore it. The ECJ is due to give a decision within a couple of weeks.
So, this might be where all this talk of May’s deal, no deal or no Brexit is coming from, mightn’t it?
Further, this is the power of the EU and the ECJ being used to influence internal UK politics.
But here in the UK, all that’s needed for the Remainers now, is for project fear, scare and terrify to be ramped up to epic proportions in order to give MPs the ‘justification’ to take the nuclear option and revoke Article 50.
And I would guess they will play along with project fear all the way in the coming days and weeks.
I reckon Fleet Street editors and TV channels are already clearing the presses and airwaves for more scare-mongering, don’t you?
Anyway, what do you think? Please leave a comment below and thank you for watching.
