EDDIE HOWE is set to stay at Newcastle for another season.
Following a much-needed 3-0 home win against Brighton, The Athletic have reported that the Magpies boss will be in the job at the start of next season.
Howe, 48, had already expressed his wishes to stay with the North East side.
The club’s ownership has continued their support for the Premier League manager as they fumbled their way through a turbulent season.
Talks were held this week in Northumberland with 25-people from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) who are the Toon’s majority owners.
All parties have agreed that this season has not been up to the standard that they expect.
But having shook hands on avoiding a repeat of this campaign, Howe has been given another go.
The former Bournemouth boss arrived at St James’ Park in November 2021 when they were 19th in the league.
Newcastle had been freed of Sports Direct tycoon Mike Ashley and been taken over by a consortium led by the PIF.
Howe’s first season saw safety before heading for Champions League qualification with a fourth-place finish in the 2022/23 season.

The Mags did it again in the 2024/25 campaign after finishing fifth in the league.
That same season, the Carabao Cup became the glittering highlight of Howe’s black and white career – the club’s first major domestic trophy since 1955.
Since then, it has been more of a rollercoaster of Howe and his men.
Newcastle jumped into 13th place following their St James’ Park victory over Brighton with three games remaining in the season.
It was their first win in six games in all competitions – ending a run of four consecutive league losses.
Newcastle have made a costly habit of letting leads slip this season, surrendering a league-high 25 points from winning positions.
And Howe’s men have shown little fightback once behind, clawing back just three points from losing positions – the lowest tally in the Premier League.
Elsewhere in the season, they exited the Champions League at the last-16 stage following a dramatic 8-3 aggregate defeat to Barcelona.
That poor run has only intensified scrutiny on Howe’s long-term future, despite the Toon boss signing new deals in both 2022 and 2023.
Newcastle will play Nottingham Forest, West Ham, and Fulham in the remaining games of the season.
