Darts star reveals he is having ‘a lot of problems on the toilet’ as he holds nothing back in interview

DARTS star Danny Noppert opened up on his problems away from the oche in a revealing post-match interview after victory at the Austrian Open yesterday.

Despite his 6-5 win over Alan Soutar, the Dutchman’s focus was his recent problems on the toilet as he’s been suffering stomach issues.

Noppert qualified for Sunday’s finals day of the Austrian Open after edging Scotsman Soutar 6-5 in the European Tour 6.

However he had more pressing matters to talk about in his post-match interview and hinted that his bathroom battles were tougher than his narrow victory over Soutar.

He said: “It’s been a battle in the last couple of days, I have such a bad stomach, I don’t know why, lots of problems on the toilet and less sleep.

“It was a performance here as well and I’m happy that I won but still fighting.”

Another reporter then asked Noppert if it was the first time he’d faced the sickness problems.

He said he had similar issues at the UK Open and gestured to his mouth to say that it was sickness on that occasion.

Before adding: “Now it’s from behind.”

Noppert made headlines with his last sickness bug at the UK Open in March as he threw a nine darter despite throwing up five times before his match against Dimitri Van den Bergh.

The Freeze will be hoping his battles with the toilet won’t last too much longer as he gears up for a battle on the oche with Cristo Reyes in the last 16 of the Austrian Open.

The Spaniard hit a nine-darter yesterday in a 6-4 win over Australian star Damon Heta.

Noppert will be seeking to go one better than his best Austrian Open effort to date, as he lost in the final to fellow countryman Michael van Gerwen in 2022.
