Violet Grohl made her late-night TV debut last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. For the performance, Grohl played her recent single “Bug in the Cake” from her new album, Be Sweet to Me, dressed in all black alongside a full band.
“I made a conscious decision to abstract a lot of things so I could have my own personal interpretations of it,” Grohl said about the LP on AP’s In Session podcast. “Leave it up for people to interpret themselves and apply their own memories, stories, and whatever might be to the songs.”

On Be Sweet to Me, Grohl connected with producer Justin Raisen after hearing Kim Gordon’s PLAY ME, which Raisen worked on. After discovering a mutual love for David Lynch, they began a creative partnership — even paying tribute to the surrealist director on “What’s Heaven Without You.”
Later this year, Grohl will play at the 2026 editions of Riot Fest, All Things Go, and CBGB Festival.
