Nigeria were training in Johannesburg on Friday (February 8th), in preparation for Sunday’s (February 10th) Africa Cup of Nations final meeting with Burkina Faso.
Nigeria strikers Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike both missed Friday’s training session in Johannesburg and are struggling to make the line-up for the Africa Cup of Nations final.
Coach Stephen Keshi will give the injured pair until just before kick-off in Sunday’s game against Burkina Faso to prove their fitness.
Moses, the Chelsea striker, set up two goals in Nigeria’s 4-1 semi-final win over Mali, but left the pitch after twisting his left ankle in the second half of that match.
Spartak Moscow’s Emenike, who scored Nigeria’s third goal in the win, is nursing a muscle injury.
Nigeria are aiming to win the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 1994 and for a third time overall.
It will be the ‘Super Eagles’ first appearance in an Africa Cup of Nations final since 2000, when they were beaten by Cameroon in a penalty shoot-out.
