Fans left divided as former Chelsea and Arsenal star brutally snubs EVERY player from one of his old clubs in dream XI

PETR CECH has named his ideal combined XI – without picking a single player from Arsenal.

The ex-goalkeeper spent four years at Arsenal before hanging up his gloves in 2019.

He joined the club following an 11-year spell with Chelsea, where he won four Premier League titles and the Champions League.

And he would pick his old team-mates over any current Arsenal stars if given the chance to build his ultimate starting line-up.

Asked by GiveMeSport to pick between members of the 2004-05 Chelsea squad or the current Gunners squad, he only picked the Blues – mostly without hesitation.

Cech backed himself against David Raya and picked William Gallas over Riccardo Calafiori, John Terry over William Saliba, Ricardo Carvalho over Gabriel Magalhaes and Paulo Ferreira over Jurrien Timber.

In midfield, he dismissed Declan Rice for Claude Makelele, picked Frank Lampard against Martin Odegaard and left out Eberechi Eze for Joe Cole.

His toughest decision came between Arjen Robben and Bukayo Saka, but Cech went for his former team-mate.

He said: “That is a tough one. But the impact Robben had was huge so I’ll keep him in there.”

On the left side, the ex-goalkeeper went for Damien Duff over Gabriel Martinelli.

And as the striker he did not hesitate when picking Didier Drogba over Viktor Gyokeres.

Cech’s picks split fan opinions, with one person commenting: “He literally doesn’t rate Arsenal’s Super Squad in the last 20 years.”

Another said: “No bias here at all, clearly.”

While a third wrote: “I can’t even argue as an Arsenal fan, this is 100% true.”

Chelsea won the Premier League and the League Cup during the 2004-05 season.

Arsenal remain in contention to lift the Prem trophy this season.

They currently sit three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.
