9am UK weather forecast – Britain to ROAST all week as temperature hits 30C for last blast of summer

BRITAIN is set to to bask in temperatures of more than 30C this week for a last blast of summer.

Most of the country will see a spell of warmer weather over the next few days as September is set to be one of the hottest on record, the Met Office have said.

Some north-western parts of the UK and some areas of Scotland could see some rain on Monday, but elsewhere the weather will be generally dry and sunny.

Forecaster John Griffiths said: “Much of England and Wales by the afternoon will be dry warm and sunny if not even locally very warm.”

The September heat follows on from an August heatwave which saw temperatures top out at 34C for six days running last month.
